Barry Weaver is a national speaker and trainer on sustainability and green property management.  He is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®); a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP®); a National Affordable Housing Management Professional – Executive (NAHP-e); a Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM); and a Licensed Real Estate Broker.

With over the 25 years of experience, Barry has a comprehensive background in organizational leadership and real estate development, construction, operations, and oversight.  He has managed a full-spectrum real estate for both non-profit and for-profit owners including Market Rate, Office, Retail, HUD 202, Section 236, 221 (d) (3), Bond, Home, Hope VI, LIHTC, Rural Development, Congregate Care, Assisted Living, ACC and RAD.

Barry’s professional accomplishments include:

• Leadership oversight of a housing portfolio valued in excess of $900 million
• Managed annual operating budgets in excess of $53 million
• Achieved a 110% growth in his company’s net profit
• Oversight of a housing portfolio in excess of 12,000 units
• Managed capital projects in excess of $10 million
• Led the recovery of 1,000 apartments in New Orleans devastated by Hurricane Katrina
• Developed real-time performance metric system
• Implemented five business management & accounting systems
• Author of “Green Housing” published by the National Affordable Housing Management Association

Barry is a committed “green” professional.  Barry became involved in environmental issues in the late 1970’s as an undergraduate at Humboldt State University (HSU) in Northern California.  HSU is internationally known for its conservation and environmental programs.  Barry is a LEED AP® and holds the National Association of Realtors’ Green Designation.  He is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and NAR’s Green Resource Council.  Barry is an approved trainer for the Credential for Green Property Management (CGPM).

Barry earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver, CO and a B.A. in Social Welfare and a B.A. in Sociology from Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA.  Barry attended  graduate school at the University of Notre Dame and Notre Dame’s Nonprofit Executive Leadership Program.  He studied European social policy at the University of Uppsala, Uppsala, Sweden.  Barry is a graduate of the internationally renowned school of professional coaching, Coach.
